an ornithological record of sightings in
the commonwealth
The VSO Board approved the publication of
a journal to record bird sightings in Virginia at the February
2004 Board meeting. The volunteer regional editors are on
board and ready. The first reporting period will be
Summer 2004 (see schedule below). Please send your
unusal, interesting, early, late, etc. sightings to the
Regional Editors. Expected publication date for the first
issue will be Jan/Feb 2005, posibly earlier. VSO members
will receive the publication as part of membership for the
first year.
Deadlines for submitting your reports to
the Regional Editors:

Fall (August - November) December 15
Winter (December - February) March 15
After much discussion and agonizing, we
decided to mirror the schedule used by North American Birds, so
reporting up will be easier.
