Locale: A list solely for the discussion of birding and bird distribution in Virginia counties and independent cities. NOT a list for general-interest birding discussions. Relevant topics include discussion of exact locations of jurisdictional boundaries between cities and counties and how they are determined (for the purposes of assigning bird sightings to the correct jurisdiction), as well as the increasing role of technology in birding (particularly GPS, advances in cartography, bird database software, and use of cell phones in the field) as it relates to our knowledge of bird distribution.
